A great introduction to Rookie ball for ages 5-9!
What is T-ball?
T-ball is designed to introduce children to baseball while they are developing the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and catching in a fun and supportive environment.
All players receive equal playing time, and coaches focus on teaching the kids the fundamentals and introductory rules of the game. This program emphasizes fun, friendship, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We aim to create an environment that encourages parental involvement.
T-ball serves as an effective introduction to standard baseball, Rookie ball, and softball. It focuses on developing essential skills such as hitting, running, fielding, and throwing. As a result, T-ball provides a steady stream of young athletes who possess the foundational skills necessary to participate in more advanced levels of the sport.
How is the game played?
- Without a pitcher, children can participate without fear of being hit by a thrown ball.
- Two teams take turns hitting a ball from a batting tee on home plate.
- Players run between the bases, attempting to reach home plate.
- Fielders catch the ball and either return it to base or tag runners to get them out.
- We currently do not keep score in T-ball, but we are willing to change this based on the majority’s preference.
