Financial assistance is available through Canadian Tire's Jump Start program (http://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/en/). In order to submit an application for this program, you must first apply for a Leisure Access Card (LAC) through the City of Kitchener. Below is the link for the LAC application and the steps to be followed if financial assistance is required.
If you already have a Leisure Access Card, FHTBA in partnership with the Kitchener Sports Association (KSA), are also pleased to assist with the registration fee for your child. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to play ball. Please ask one of our team members, at registration, about this program.
Step 1: Apply for a Leisure Access Card. (Even though the LAC card does not provide funding for non-city run programs, you still have to apply for it)
Step 2: Once approved for an LAC card, contact Julie Laderoute at the City of Kitchener by calling 519-741-2228, to request Jump Start funding for a minor sport.
Step 3: Working with Julie, the participant/parent will complete the required documentation to apply for the program/funding.
Step 4: If approved, the family will receive a letter of confirmation that states specifically the sport group, the program and the amount of assistance approved. This letter must be provided to the sport group upon registration as this letter is the confirmation/proof.
